Thankful For Each Moment

Today in our county, as a mother drove her two daughters to school, her van slipped on the ice and she crossed into the path of an oncoming truck. Her seven year old daughter was killed and her six year old was injured, but was able to be released and sent home. Why do I share such a sad story? Because it makes me appreciate the fact that our time with those we love, especially our children, is far too short. They grow up much too quickly and sometimes we are quick to want to get through a certain phase because it seems a bit difficult. I have been reminded today to cherish EACH moment with these precious gifts from God and not to take any of it for granted. The Lord knows the number of our days and is in control of the times and the seasons we pass through. I pray that I will be found faithful in loving my girls and teaching them to love God and others. And now I must go hug my babies just one more time before bed.
