Where We've Been, What We've Done, and Why We Need Naps

The last week has been filled with packing, packing, and more packing. We are on target to move in 2 weeks and, in an effort not to have to pack everything up in 2 or 3 days' time, I have been trying to pack several boxes each day. As I've done this, I've found myself thinking, "Why, oh why, do we have so much STUFF!" And these thoughts are coming without having packed much of anything out of the girls' room yet! Why do I have so many dishes? Because I like them, that's why! Why does Lon have so many books? Because he likes them! I have found some things I can get rid of so I'm glad of that. We are making progress even though, at this point in the game, it doesn't look too much like it. We began doing some work down at the house this evening and know that we will both sleep well tonight! As Lon said when we got home, we're probably going to be tired for the next month. But this too shall pass. We are excited about getting to do the work and feel blessed by the huge amount of space this is going to give us. I think the work will all be worth it in the end. We are quite grateful that Lon's mom flew up from Texas to help us out with the girls so that we would be free to get things done. The girls always have a good time with her and will make some good memories again this time I'm sure.

Funny stories from Sarah Grace:
Today she and Abby and I ran some errands in town while Lainey was in school. We had our taxes prepared last week and needed to go pick them up. She asked where we were going and I told her we had to go pick up our taxes. I knew she had no clue what I was talking about, but I really wasn't sure how to explain tax stuff to a 3 year old especially since I really have no understanding of it myself! She asked me several more times what we were doing until I finally told her we just had to pick up some paperwork. This answer seemed to satisfy her. The CPA's office is in an old home that has been renovated into an office and as we were leaving, the secretary asked if Sarah Grace would like some candy from their basket. She did and picked out a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or as she calls it a "cup of Reese". As we were in the car driving to our next errand, she said, "Mama, I liked the paperwork house because I got a cup of Reese." We laugh at the way she names things. For example, Sarah Grace doesn't go to Home Depot; she goes to On-Home Depot. She also doesn't watch America's Funniest Home Videos. She watches On-Home Videos and asks me every Sunday, "Is On-Home Videos on yet?" I have no idea why "on" has to be added to phrases beginning with home, but evidently it is necessary.

We had some more snow this week, but I'm glad to say it was short lived this time. It started falling shortly after lunch on Wednesday and fell throughout the day and evening. We ended up with 2-3 inches, but it's mostly melted now. After our 2 weeks + of snow in December and January, we're good on snow for a long while! I am ready for springtime, flowers, and warm breezes (though those don't usually show up until May or June)!

Well, Lon has now accused me of writing War and Peace: The Blog Entry so I shall now end my tome with the hopes of being a more faithful blogger in the future. Just know, faithful readers, that our lives are very, very busy right now and that soon and very soon we will catch up and return to normal and more regularly scheduled updates!
