Well, the snow has arrived along with some super cold temperatures. Just as I was about to have supper ready tonight, our power went out and sent us on the quest for candles, matches, and flashlights. Thankfully we found all without much search. When the power went out, the house was pitch black and all 3 girls started crying. Trying to recover them all was an adventure. Abby had been on the floor crawling when the lights were on and, while I knew her general location, I wasn't 100% sure and was a little worried about stepping on her. I had to tell Lainey to be quiet so I could find Abby without my feet. I found her quickly and managed to get the others settled rather quickly. We then realized it had started snowing outside and this news brought the girls great delight. They then started dancing around the living room saying, "It's Christmas already!" because for some reason they associate snow with Christmas. I'm not sure why as we have not had a white Christmas in our time of living here. Oh well, they're enjoying it. Thankfully the power was only out for about 30 minutes (one of the benefits of living mere yards from the border crossing and the customs office; they need their power on rather quickly) and all has returned to normal. Here's hoping it doesn't go out again in the middle of the night!
The girls and I made some sugar cookies today (pre-power outage) and they thoroughly enjoyed using the sprinkles. Here's a picture of them as they wait for them to bake in the oven. It looks like it was better than a TV show.
