Today's version of homeschooling went a little better, I think. Today we worked on the letter F. Lainey wrote uppercase and lowercase f's and really did a good job. I took an old newspaper circular and had her cut out words that begin with the letter f and we then glued them on a piece of construction paper. In case you haven't given this much thought lately, let me remind you, cutting is a life skill you take for granted. Wow, is it a strange and difficult thing to teach someone else to do! Saying "just cut" doesn't cut it (pun totally intended!). We made it through with all of our fingers in tact and I now know that's another skill I need to add to the growing list of things I need to teach the girls to do. Let's see, that's teach them to be like Jesus, teach them how to sing hymns (we're making headway on that one), teach them to memorize Scripture, teach them the importance of making the bed everyday, teach them how to tie their shoes, teach them to use scissors, teach them to love each other, teach them table manners, teach them that when you feel like you have to throw up and you're sitting in dad's lap, you should probably tell him instead of just doing it (yep, Sarah Grace did that tonight after dinner, but we're all good now) and teach them how to dunk their Oreos in milk (Lon's got that one covered I think.). Wow, my list keeps growing and growing. Good thing we've got quite some time to work on this list though I think the throwing up thing is going to be moved nearer to the top than it has been in previous days!
