I wish there was a way I could record the sound of the girls' laughter and play it on here for you. There can't be many sweeter sounds in all the world than the sound of them playing outside and laughing together. I heard it this morning and paused and thought, "Lord, please let me remember the way this sounds forever and ever because it is just precious." Also precious is hearing them pray. Lainey has been able to pray on her own without having to repeat after us for a while now and it is a sweet and near sacred thing to hear her talk to God. Just the other day and without any prompting from us, she prayed for the family of the lady in our church who passed away recently. She prayed that God would help them not to be sad because she was sure they missed her. Sarah Grace has recently started saying that she wants to pray as well. She still has to have help, but she can tell you who she wants to pray for and when she does pray, she often repeats names several times. What a blessing to know they have this desire at such an early age. It is our prayer that they don't ever remember a time when they didn't love Jesus.
Tonight Sarah Grace was trying to read The Jesus Storybook Bible but was intertwining some Goodnight Moon in as well. So, as she'd turn the page she'd say "Goodnight Jesus. Goodnight Mary. Goodnight Jesus. Goodnight Socks." I laughed. I suppose she's got to start somewhere!

PS you may be interested to know about some cool resources on my site connected with the book, including audio of me reading the stories, downloadable stories, interviews and reviews--as well as other new children's books including a very pink book that I think might be right up Lainey's alley called HANDBAG FRIENDS--there's a mini movie clip and song she may enjoy on my site...
