Picnics in the Park and School Days

Today was a beautiful day. It was one of those days we have at the end of one season and the beginning of another where it's quite warm in the sunshine, but a little cool in the shade. We took a picnic lunch to the park in Lynden and enjoyed being outside. The girls loved playing and were lots of fun to watch. I had Abby in the Snuggli and was pushing Lainey on the swing for a time. Every time Lainey would come forward and then swing back, Abby would laugh and laugh. It was really quite funny and she was quite tickled. I could feel her body shaking against mine she was laughing so hard.

We are in the market for a new large suitcase as the last airline we used graciously tore ours so that we will no longer be able to use it on cross country trips. Since we have one of those coming up in just a couple of weeks, we need to find something soon. We stopped at the Second Chance store in Lynden hoping to find something there. No luck in the luggage department but we did stumble upon a treasure. We found an old school desk just perfect for us to use for Lainey. Best of all it was only $4! She loves it already and sat in it this afternoon with her writing tablet and practiced writing a few letters and numbers.

Here's a picture of our lovely find with our even lovelier student in it as well as a couple of pictures of Lainey reading to Abs this morning and one of Sarah Grace after her bath tonight that was just cute.
