Breaking news today: Abby cut her first tooth! Finally! She has been chewing on her hands for two months now so I'm glad we have something to show for it. As this is the first of many to come, she's still chewing and still not all that happy, but we're making progress. I have to say though, it always makes me a bit sad when they start getting teeth and that little toothless grin disappears forever. Oh well, there'll be other things that make me smile.
I often wonder if I'm getting through to Lainey and Sarah Grace when trying to teach them. Tonight at supper, I saw a glimmer of hope. I've been trying to teach Lainey a Scripture verse each week. I asked if she could remember the one from last week (Children obey your parents in everything for this pleases the Lord. Colossians 3:20). Lainey started it, but then Sarah Grace chimed in and finished right along with her. I've made no real effort to teach Sarah Grace (mistakenly thinking she might be too young) but she's just picked it up. Yes, there is hope! I do make a difference! Of course as I was trying to remind her of another verse we've learned, she started spitting out her chicken casserole. So, there is still a long way to go, but we ARE making progress!
